Lube Oil
The busy modern life has created a constant cycle of commuting. While public transport is available, the flexibility of a personal vehicle has largely influenced our modes of transportation. Over 1.1 billion cars were in circulation in 2015 and are projected to expand to 1.5 billion cars by 2025 (Business Insider, 2015). The lube oil industry faces a challenge in supplying a vast diversity of oil SKUs.
Flexibility Is Crucial
A typical lube oil plant fills between 15 and 30 SKUs on the same production line. The differences in these SKUs are not always trivial.
Some only differ in the label, others differ slightly in dimensions and some have different form factors altogether.
The balancing of the production of these SKUs is not always set in advance. Fluctuations in the demand will force the production to shift on the fly and adapt to the new requirements.
Machines With Quick Changeover
It is our responsibility as OEMs to ensure that the switching of SKUs can be a reactive decision and not time-consuming. Every step of the production needs to have automated or semi-automated changeover systems.
Depalletizing your empty bottles should be done with a depalletizing solution capable of handling multiple SKUs.
Your empty bottle conveyors should be flexible and be able to change their guide clearance on the fly.
Your packing machine should have quick change-overs to accommodate different packing patterns and sizes.
Your palletizing machine should be able to handle every configuration you throw at it.
